MBBS In India

MBBS Admission in India

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is one of the most prestigious and competitive undergraduate programs in India. The course spans 5.5 years, including one year of mandatory internship in clinical settings. Admission to MBBS programs is strictly based on the NEET-UG entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is mandatory for all government and private medical colleges.

Every year, lakhs of students appear for NEET with the dream of becoming a doctor. India has over 600 medical colleges offering more than 1 lakh MBBS seats through various quotas like All India Quota (AIQ), State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota. After qualifying NEET, students must participate in centralized counselling conducted by MCC or respective state authorities. MBBS graduates go on to serve in hospitals, clinics, research institutions, and pursue higher studies like MD/MS. With its strong academic foundation and clinical exposure, MBBS remains the top choice for students passionate about healthcare and medicine.
